Ancient Mesopotamian kitchens were an essential part of daily life. They were typically located in a separate building or a designated area within the house. Adding a dedicated pasta-making station to an ancient Mesopotamian kitchen would have been an interesting addition. While pasta as we know it today was not part of ancient Mesopotamian cuisine, they did have a type of flatbread called 'kaak' made from barley or wheat flour. Having a designated area for making kaak or experimenting with pasta-making techniques would have added versatility to the ancient Mesopotamian kitchen.
