It takes approximately 18-24 months for a pineapple plant to produce fruit. Once the fruit starts to develop, it will take another 4-6 months to fully ripen. Harvest the pineapple when it turns golden yellow and gives off a sweet aroma. Twist or cut the fruit off the plant, leaving a small portion of the stem attached.
