Before applying chalkboard paint, make sure to properly prep the wall. Clean the surface thoroughly and remove any dirt, grease, or imperfections. Sand the wall lightly to create a smooth surface for the paint to adhere to. Fill in any holes or cracks with spackle and sand again for a seamless finish.
