Sidra, or cider, is the most famous and traditional drink in Asturias. It is made from fermented apple juice and has a slightly tart and refreshing taste. Sidra is typically poured from a height to create a natural effervescence and is enjoyed in small quantities in traditional cider houses called 'sidrerías'. It is often accompanied by a plate of Asturian cheese or cured meats.
