Select an island size that fits well in your kitchen. It should be large enough to accommodate the ice cream sundae bar essentials, such as toppings, sauces, bowls, and spoons. However, make sure it doesn't overpower the kitchen space. A good rule of thumb is to leave at least 36 inches of clearance around the island for easy movement.
